Who we are
KSW CONSULTANTS LTD is the legal operator of this website and the data controller for the personal information covered by this notice. It trades as UNICO ICF; UNICO ICF is not a separately incorporated company.
KSW CONSULTANTS LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, with company number 14878170. Its registered office is 303 Goring Road, Worthing, West Sussex, United Kingdom, BN12 4NX.
Keith Whittington and Sue Whittington are our named business contacts.
This notice covers our public website and email enquiries. For privacy questions or requests, email icf@unico-construction.com.
Information we receive
When you email us, we receive your email address, message and any contact or project details and attachments you provide. These may include your name, telephone number, project location, plans and intended timescale.
The website uses telephone and email links rather than an online enquiry form. A telephone link opens your phone app and an email link opens your email app; neither confirms that an enquiry has been made. Providing enquiry details is voluntary, but without relevant information we may be unable to answer your request.
Please avoid sending identity documents, financial information or sensitive personal details in an initial enquiry. Only send other people’s details if you are entitled to do so.
Our hosting and security services may process technical information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times, to deliver and protect the website.
Why we use information
We use enquiry details to understand your project, answer questions, prepare requested proposals and communicate with you. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract, we rely on those pre-contractual steps as our lawful basis.
For other business enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding and managing correspondence. Website delivery and security support our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, safe website. Where we must retain or disclose records to meet a legal requirement, we rely on that legal obligation.
Optional Google Analytics measurement relies on your consent. You can refuse or withdraw it without affecting your ability to browse or contact us. Withdrawal stops future measurement; it does not make earlier processing unlawful.
Service providers and sharing
KSW CONSULTANTS LTD, trading as UNICO ICF, manages customer enquiries and projects directly. We do not routinely pass customer enquiries to third-party contractors, architects, suppliers or other businesses for them to pursue independently. We may share relevant information where necessary to deliver or administer a project.
Cloudflare provides website hosting and security services. Google Workspace handles our business email. If you enable analytics, Google receives website measurement information through Google Analytics, including technical browser information and the IP address used to connect to its service. We have saved the Google Analytics data-sharing settings and Google’s data-processing terms for this property. Google Ads call reporting for calls made directly from eligible advertisements is a separate service, described below. These providers process information to supply their services. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Google Analytics has separate processing terms: see Google’s measurement data-processing terms and Google’s privacy policy.
These providers operate internationally and may process information outside the UK. Their published data-processing terms describe transfer safeguards, including contractual protections for UK data and recognised adequacy arrangements where applicable. See Google’s data-processing terms and Cloudflare’s data-processing terms. Contact us for details of the safeguards relevant to your information.
How long we keep information
We normally delete unsuccessful or inactive enquiry correspondence 12 months after the last meaningful communication, unless there is a legitimate reason or legal requirement to retain it for longer. Enquiries that become active projects may be retained for project delivery, contractual obligations, applicable legal requirements and the resolution of disputes.
Retention decisions take account of the enquiry’s status, its continuing purpose, legal requirements and any outstanding dispute. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised, subject to applicable backup cycles. Contact us if you would like details relating to your enquiry.
Google Analytics retention. The GA4 property is configured to retain relevant event-level data for 2 months and relevant user-level data for 14 months. These settings apply to the relevant user- and event-level data available in Google Analytics; they do not necessarily govern every aggregated report or statistic produced by Google Analytics.
Cookies and website features
Analytics and advertising choices are separate and default to off. Google Analytics loads only after you enable analytics. It measures visits to our public pages and activations of our telephone and email links. We send controlled page and contact categories, rather than message contents, your email address, telephone number, or link query strings. Page URL query strings and fragments are omitted from our configured measurement. Clicking a telephone or email link is not a confirmed enquiry. Privacy-request clicks are recorded separately from sales-enquiry clicks, and telephone-link clicks are recorded as phone_click only.
Our Analytics configuration asks the browser to use session cookies named _ga and _ga_…, rather than setting a persistent cookie lifetime. These help Google recognise visits during a browser session. This setting does not control how every browser defines the end of a session: a browser configured to restore a previous session may restore session cookies. It does not promise that closing a particular tab or window immediately removes them.
We disable Google Signals and advertising-personalisation signals in the website tag configuration. We do not intentionally use advertising measurement on this website: it does not load a Google Ads conversion tag or grant advertising storage. This website configuration is separate from Google Ads call reporting for calls made directly from eligible advertisements. Any future website advertising measurement will require a separate implementation and updated information before consent is requested.
Use Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page to change your choice. You can reject optional measurement as easily as accept it. Withdrawing analytics consent stops collection, removes accessible first-party Analytics cookies and reloads the page to unload the tag. It cannot recall information already sent to Google.
We store your choice in your browser’s local storage under unico-cookie-preferences so it applies on later visits. This preference storage is used only to remember and respect your choice; it does not contain a tracking identifier. You can change it here or clear it through your browser. If the browser cannot save a choice, optional measurement stays off.
Photographs, video and fonts are served from the website, rather than embedded third-party players. Our hosting and security provider may use technical cookies or process request information to protect and deliver the service.
Calls from Google advertisements
When an eligible Google advertisement is shown, Google Ads call reporting may display a Google forwarding number for our call asset and route the call to our business mobile number. This allows Google Ads to report call-routing and performance information, such as whether a call connected, its duration and, where the service provides it, caller-number information.
Our Google Ads “Calls from ads” conversion is set to report a conversion only when a call lasts at least 60 seconds. That record is a duration threshold for advertising reporting; it does not establish that an enquiry was received, qualified or resulted in a project.
This reporting applies only to calls started directly from eligible Google advertisements. It is separate from this website’s consent-gated Google Analytics and its phone_click event. It does not use a Google Ads conversion tag, advertising storage or a forwarding-number replacement on this website. Cookie preferences control optional website analytics, not a call made to a number displayed in an advertisement.
Google is the provider of this call reporting. Its privacy policy and applicable service terms describe its processing and safeguards for the service.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your information, or receive eligible information in a portable format. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exemptions.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To make a request, email icf@unico-construction.com. We may need information to verify your identity before disclosing personal data.
Where we rely on consent for Analytics, you can withdraw it at any time through Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. This stops future optional measurement from this website and removes accessible first-party Analytics cookies during the reload. It does not retrieve information already received by Google or affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
We normally respond to a valid rights request without undue delay and within one calendar month. If a request is complex or you make a number of requests, the law can allow up to two additional months; if we use that extension, we will tell you within the initial month. We may ask for reasonable identity information and, where the law allows, charge a reasonable fee or refuse a request that is manifestly unfounded or excessive. We will explain our decision if that happens.
If you have concerns, please contact us so we can try to resolve them. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office without waiting for our response.

We will update this notice when our website or information-handling practices change and show the revised date here.
